For my birthday Brandon wanted to get me a kitty. So a week ago we decided to go to Petsmart to take a look and see if they had any. When we got there we saw that Kittysave was there with about 15 or so different cats trying to find new homes for them. Kittysave is a group of volunteers that save cats from shelters who are scheduled to be euthanized. They then take the cats in and become their caretakers until they can find new homes for them. We found 2 cats that we fell in love with.. and after much deliberating we decided that Iva, the tortoiseshell kitten, was for us. This decision was made easier due to the fact that while i was holding her she stretched herself out and fell asleep in my arms.
The Monday after we got her, on my birthday, i took her to the groomers for a bath and the lady said it would take 4 hours so I came home for a while. When I got home I walked in and was so sad. I felt the void of our new kitty already. So when i got the call 2 hours later that her bath was done I hurried over and picked her up. She was done early because she wasn't doing well with the dryer process so they were letting her air dry. I wanted to take her home so she could be comfortable. The whole process seemed to be very traumatic. There were big scary dogs there. She looked so funny, half of her body was fluffy and her legs and tail were all damp and matted. We were just relieved that she was clean and we could cuddle with her. We love her and I'm afraid we're spoiling her already. :)
We didn't do a whole lot more that night but watch tv and get Olive Garden to go. I love their breadsticks with the Alfredo dip. It was a nice birthday being home with my
family. :D
We also got her a pretty sweet collar. Its dark green with rhinestones. She's very bling bling.
Right now as I'm writing this she's sleeping in my lap in the most curious of positions. Her paw is stretched out and she has what appears to be a smile on her face. She has taken well to us and our home... we couldn't be happier wit
